VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINES

  FOR THE FEBRUARY 5 PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE  PRIMARY ELECTION
January 25 Voter registration deadline.
January 31 Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots.
February 4 Last day for voter to hand-deliver or postmark absentee ballots.
   
  FOR THE JUNE 3 PRIMARY ELECTION (ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND COUNTY. -- EXCEPT PRESIDENT)
May 23 Voter registration deadline.
May 29 Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots.
June 2 Last day for voter to hand-deliver or postmark absentee ballots.
   
  FOR THE JULY 15 PRIMARY RUNOFF ELECTION (IF NECESSARY)
July 3 Voter registration deadline.
July 10 Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots.
July 14 Last day for voter to hand-deliver or postmark absentee ballots.
   
  FOR THE NOVEMBER 4 GENERAL ELECTION
October 24 Voter registration deadline.
October 30 Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots.
November 3 Last day for voter to hand-deliver or postmark absentee ballots.
   

Please note that you must be registered by the close of registration prior to an election if you wish to vote on election day.

  • Department of Human Resources' Public Assistance Offices (WICS, DFACS)
  • Other offices serving the disabled
  • Recruitment Offices
  • County courthouses and city halls
  • Colleges and high schools for students and personnel

 

TO REGISTER TO VOTE YOU MUST:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a resident of the county in which you register
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Not be serving a sentence for a conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
  • Not have been adjudicated mentally incompetent

A Voter ID Card is Mailed to the applicant once the voter registration application is approved.  If you do not receive your card within 2-3 weeks, please contact the registration offices.
