VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINES



For the March 13th Presidential, State, and County Primary Election

On Election Day you will choose either a Republican or Democratic Ballot
Voter registration deadline is Friday, March 2nd at 5 pm

Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots is Thursday, March 8th at 5 pm

Regular absentee ballot must be returned by 5:00pm on Monday, March 12

 

Last day for medical emergency voter to hand-deliver (in person) or postmark absentee ballots must be received by the Absentee manager (Circuit Clerk) no later than 12 noon on Election day.


For the April 24th Primary Runoff (If Necessary)

On Election Day you will choose either a Republican or Democratic Ballot
Voter registration deadline is Friday, April 13 at 5 pm
Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots is April 19th, 5 pm

Last day for voter to hand-deliver (in person) or postmark absentee ballots is 12 noon on Election day.

 Regular absentee ballot must be returned by 5:00pm on Monday, March 23rd.

For the August 28th Municipal Elections (All cities in Etowah Co except Gadsden)

Voter registration deadline is Friday, August 18th at 5 pm.
Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots is Aug 24th, 5 pm
Last day for voter to hand-deliver (in person) or postmark absentee ballots is Election day no later than 12 noon.

For the November 6th General Election

Voter registration deadline is Friday October 26th at 5 pm
Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots is November 2 at 5 pm
Last day for voter to hand-deliver (in person) or postmark absentee ballots is Election day no later than 12 noon.

For the November 6th General Election

Voter registration deadline is Friday October 26th at 5 pm
Last day for voter to make application for absentee ballots is November 2 at 5 pm

Please note that you must be registered by the close of registration prior to an election if you wish to vote on election day.

TO REGISTER TO VOTE YOU MUST:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a resident of the county in which you register
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Not be serving a sentence for a conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
  • Not have been adjudicated mentally incompetent

A Voter ID Card is Mailed to the applicant once the voter registration application is approved. If you do not receive your card within 2-3 weeks, please contact the registration offices.
